There are plenty of drinking games without cards for you to enjoy, but which are the best? We’ve compiled a list of our 11 favorite drinking games you can play without cards. While there’s always the classics like beer pong and flip cup, this list focuses on some unique no-card drinking games that will definitely be a hit at your party.

Drinking games you can play without cards:

Stump

While no cards are required for this drinking game, you’ll need a hammer, nails, and a stump. Players tap their nails slightly into a stump. Players take turns flipping the hammer, catching it, and trying to hit their opponent’s nail into the stump in one swift motion. You must take a sip whenever your nail is hit, and once it’s driven all the way into the stump, you must finish your drink.

While stump is a fun drinking game, you’ll also need to be very careful because it can be dangerous. Be sure to take extra caution and don’t play if you’ve had too much to drink.

Beer Ball

Beer ball is a fun and faced paced drinking game. This game requires 4 players, and they are split into teams of two. The team stand on opposite ends of the table and take turns throwing a ping pong ball at the other team’s beer cans. If you hit the can, you drink as much of your beer as possible until the other team picks up the ball and sets it on the table. The first team to finish both of their beers is the beer ball champion. You can find our post on how to play beer ball here.

Moose

One of my favorite drinking games to play while sitting around a table with some friends, Moose or “Moosehead” only requires a glass, an ice cube tray, and a quarter. The glass (a rocks glass works best) is set in the middle of the table, and you place the ice tray long ways butting up to the glass. Players take turns trying to bounce the quarter off the table and into the glass. If it lands on the left side of the ice tray, the player gives out sips, and if it lands on the right side they take sips. The number of sips depends on what row of the tray it landed in. If the player makes it in the glass, everyone puts their hands up to their head to look like a moose. The last player to do so must finish their drink.

Thumper

What’s the game? Thumper. Why do we play it? To get f*cked up!

That’s what players must yell before starting each round of Thumper. You can play this drinking game without cards, in fact, all you need is a group of friends. Before the game starts, each player picks a “sign”. For example, putting a finger on your nose. The game starts with players drumming on the table and yelling the phrase above. The leader does their sign, and then someone else’s sign. If someone does your sign, you must repeat yours and then do another player’s sign. The first person to mess up must drink. Then you start a new round.

Thumper is a great drinking game for any party since it’s easy to learn and doesn’t require any supplies besides whatever you’re drinking.

Civil War

Civil war is a 3v3 beer pong style game, where you try and eliminate the other team’s cups faster than yours.

Teams stand on opposite sides of the table. Each player uses six cups to set up a beer pong-style pyramid in front of them. Every player has one beer pong ball. On go, players race to shoot the ping pong balls into their opponent’s cups. There are no turns, and you can shoot the ball into any player’s cup on the other team. You can also grab any ball that isn’t in another player’s hands. If someone makes a ball in your cup, you must drink it and remove it from the game. If all your cups are gone, you exit the game. The first team to eliminate all players on the other team wins the Civil War drinking game!

Beer Die

A personal favorite, Beer die is a drinking game that will be sure to take your party to the next level. This game requires accuracy, athleticism, and hand-eye coordination, which makes it a great drinking game for people who love competition. Teams of two battle against each other by tossing a dice in the air and trying to get it to land on the other side of the table or in the other team’s cup.

Baseball

Another pong-style drinking game, 4 cups are lined up in a row on each end of the table, while 3 cups are lined up along each side of the table. The game can be played with 4 to 9 players for each team. The rules are similar to that of baseball. The font cup is a single, the second cup is a double, the third cup is a triple, and the fourth cup is a home run. If you miss your shot, it’s an out. If you get on base, then you go to the cup on the side of the table associated with that base. A player on the other team stands across from you. You can “steal” by drinking and flipping the cup in front of you faster than the person on the other team. However, if the person on the other team beats you, it’s an out. The team with the most runs scored after 9 innings is the winner.

Flimsy Sticks

Flimsy Sticks is a fun outdoor drinking game, that’s perfect for summer get-togethers. You’ll need 4 flimsy reflective stakes that you can get from a local hardware store, a frisbee, and 4 plastic cups. Two stakes should be placed a foot and a half from each other, and the other team’s stakes should be about 12 yards away. Players take turns throwing the frisbee toward the other team’s flimsy sticks. If they make it between the stakes untouched it’s 2 points. If they hit a stake and knock the cup off, it’s one point. However, if the player catches their cup when it’s knocked off, it’s no points. Players should all have a drink in their hand when they play, and the first team to 11 wins.

Rage Cage

This popular drinking game (also known as slap cup or boom) requires players to bounce a ping pong ball in their cup faster than the person next to them. If you bounce the ball into your cup faster than the person on your left, you get to slap their cup off the table, and they must drink a cup from the center as the game continues. Check out this blog post for the full rules of rage cage.

Rattlin Bog

Rattlin Bog is a great power hour drinking game to help you get a quick buzz. It’s essentially the Irish Thunderstruck. Players sit in a circle and listen to the song Rattlin Bog, which you can find here. The players rotate drinking on every verse and they stop drinking on the chorus. The chorus is “Oh ho the Rattlin Bog, the bog down in the valley-o, Rare bog, the rattlin bog, the bog down in the valley-o” and the verses start when they describe a thing- “ and in that bog there was a hole, a rare hole, a rattlin’ hole. The player drinking during that verse must keep drinking until the chorus. This is an especially great game for St. Patrick’s Day.

Polish Horseshoes (Beersbee)

Polish Horseshoes, also known as Beersbee is another great frisbee drinking game to play outside with your friends. It’s similar to flimsy sticks where players take turns throwing a frisbee at a pole. However, for Polish Horseshoes there’s only one pole with a beer bottle on top. This game can be played 1v1 or 2v2 and is a great drinking game for those with a competitive spirit.
